There are a few different key terms that my research focuses on. A new aspect that has evolved into my research over the last few months is global communication. I am really enjoying adding this to my research because I feel world communication plays a huge part in today’s society. With all the technology that is out, it is an untapped tool that can be incorporated in education. I remember when I was little I would write a pen pal, but never thought I would use a pen pal to help increase my performance on a skill in the classroom. So I hope by incorporating this into my teaching I can take students learning to the next level while increasing their engagement at the same time. This also resonates with me because I work with teachers from all over the world during the summer and notice that they all teach a little different from one another. So if I can get my students to receive feedback from someone else anywhere in the world, it can give them a different point of view which can help improve their performance.
There are a lot of directions that I see my research going after I graduate. I would love to do some workshops to help spread my research so that other teachers could use similar teaching tools in their class. I will continue to use feedback tools in my classroom in different units and see if it helps more in certain areas than others. My long term goal would be to give my students a chance to take a field trip overseas to meet their feedback peers in person and get a chance to see how education differs around the world.
