1.How can/Should social media be used to help you develop/collaborate/communicate as a professional? What are the critical issues to consider?
There are many ways in which social media can be used into educations system. First off it’s a great way to communicate with one other . Using the right platform you can send out a message instantly to the whole class. That message can be homework assignments, update on next day activities, grades, and even communications to parents. I know you can do the same with email but not everyone is looking at their emails all the time special your students. So if you use another platform it might keep the students more engaged. For me as a PE teacher I can use social mediate to communicate with fellow teachers around the world to get advice on activities for my class. When It comes to collaborate social media is a great tool because of the endless possibility you have with it. Frist you can have connects with all staff member at your site which can help integrated topics from other subject areas. With social being so open it comes with some issues if the right rules are not put in place. Students can access connect that is not appropriate for school and also communicate with people that they should not be communicating with. Another problem is that once something is on social media it’s hard to get it off and sometime impossible because information spreads so fast once its online. 2.What would you do if you were to come across an inappropriate post made by one of your students outsideof the school. Do you address the post and, if so, how? Whom do you involve in the conversations? What considerations must you make in determining your course of action? First I would trying to avoid fallowing students so I can limited the chance of me coming across something like this. I think the way I would go about this situation would be to bring the post to the attention of the school consoler. I would see what she thinks about the post . If it something that I feel comfortable decisioning it I would try to talk to the students about it and discuss what some of the problem of a post like this could be.
