After reading the first few chapters of Falk’s book, I started to think about what my driving questions would be. Before that I started to look at what problems I was facing in my class. The first problem that I noticed was that my students were having trouble transitioning from my class to their next class. Another problem I have been facing in my class was my students not performing well at the push-ups, which they will be tested on for the physical fitness testing. I hope these problems will help point me in the direction of my driving questions.
Need to Know: I will need to know what is causing the students to have a hard time transitioning to their next class. I will also need to know what are the effects of them struggling to transition? Is it lack of focus? Exhaustion? Or something else that is making the transitions difficult for the students? Already know: I have been trying some different things out and I learned that students' eating habits affect them a great deal. For example, if the students are coming from lunch they have high sugar levels, which causes them to have a lot of energy. I also noticed that doing some form of mindfulness has helped out when students transition out of my class.
